Most of the brain-body based therapies, whether new or longstanding, are not considered "Evidence Based Therapy" by bodies such as the American Psychological Association, which sets the standards at least in North America. However, increasing numbers of clients and therapists worldwide are finding these brain-body based approaches highly effective, often better than talk therapy, as more of the brain is engaged. We will look at the existing knowledge around some of these approaches, including Brainspotting, and consider how these increasingly popular approaches can best move forward.
